This body of work was created for an exhibition at Augsburg University’s Gage Gallery in Minneapolis in 2017 with assistance from a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant. The work was added to and shown again in 2018 at Riverland Community College in Austin, MN and continues to inform my current studio work. Forms are cut and assembled from canvas, printed and painted paper, and plywood. My interest is in the interaction of positive and negative form, and light and shadow, the process of abstraction, and the ability (or lack of ability) of an artwork to describe experiences outside of itself.
